The School of Foreign Languages of China Renmin University was founded in 20011,formerly known as the Department of Foreign Languages of Renmin University. The School of Foreign Languages has seven departments/teaching departments, including English Department, Russian Department, Japanese Department, German Department, French Department, College English Teaching Department and Postgraduate English Teaching Department, which undertake the training of foreign language professionals and foreign language teaching in all departments of the school. The School of Foreign Languages also has the following research institutions: Australian Research Center, German Research Center and Japanese Humanities and Social Sciences Research Center, which are engaged in cross-cultural and transnational academic research and exchanges.

The School of Foreign Languages has a strong faculty, with full-time teachers 1 18, including 56 teachers (including professors 16, associate professors 2 1 and lecturers 19). Since the new century, the college has continuously increased the training and introduction of talents, and the overall level of the teaching staff has been continuously improved. Among the teachers, more than 70% have the experience of studying or visiting abroad; More than 90% of teachers have postgraduate degrees, among which more than 54% of professional teachers have obtained doctoral degrees, and a considerable number of teachers are studying for doctoral degrees.

The Department of Foreign Languages was founded in February, 1988. In addition to offering public extracurricular courses in five languages for the whole school, five undergraduate majors in Russian, English, Japanese, German and French have been offered. In the past five years, our institute has undertaken 78 scientific research projects at all levels, including 6 national social science fund projects. Some published monographs and national planning textbooks for the 11th Five-Year Plan were included in the third issue of "2 1 1 project" of China Renmin University.

The School of Foreign Languages has always attached importance to exchanges and cooperation with overseas universities and academic institutions.
