Shenzhen University was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education, 1983. Since its establishment 40 years ago, Shenzhen University has formed the school-running characteristics of "Special Zone University, Window University and Experimental University", and has trained nearly 300,000 innovative and entrepreneurial talents, more than 95% of whom are rooted in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, making important contributions to the development of the Special Zone and the modernization of the country.

At present, there are about 200 Hong Kong students in Shenzhen University. More than 10000 Shenzhen University graduates are employed in Hong Kong.
