Seismological bureaus in all provinces and cities can easily enter, but the problem is that the treatment of seismological bureaus is not very good, but they are well-fed. Studying abroad is mostly for scientific research. The research environment in foreign countries is better than that in China, and the treatment and welfare are very good. Unlike in China, you may not be able to afford a decent house for decades. There are indeed many students studying in HKUST. But schools are different from scientific research institutions (such as Chinese Academy of Sciences). If you want to make money, you'd better go to scientific research institutes to learn something applied instead of theory.
