On June 10, 2023, the torch relay of Chengdu 3 1 Summer Universiade was launched in Beijing. At the launching ceremony of the first leg of the torch relay in Peking University, the torch "Huo Rong" with unique aesthetic design and flexible flame effect was successfully lit, and the dazzling Universiade flame burned brilliantly.

As an important symbol and cultural carrier of the Universiade, the torch "Huo Rong" has experienced the refinement of aerospace power technology. The series of products used in Chengdu Universiade, such as torch, kindling lamp and kindling basin, were all developed by No.31Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology, and entrusted by the Organizing Committee to undertake the technical support task of torch relay.

Following the successful development of the Olympic torch in 2008 and 2022, the light of aviation power once again shines for the Universiade. The torch relay of Chengdu Universiade was held in Beijing, Harbin, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Yibin. After that, the torch will return to Chengdu and light the main torch tower of Chengdu Universiade on July 28th.
