Under the background of national graduate education reform, the enrollment scale of law school graduate students has changed greatly. The law school has the right to award doctoral degrees in first-class disciplines, with six doctoral programs in two disciplines, including: Constitution and administrative law, criminal law, civil and commercial law, environmental and resource protection law, international law and sociology. Since grade 2004, except LLM, graduate students of other majors have tried out a two-year flexible academic system training model. The purpose is to adapt to the increasing demand of society for postgraduate education, try to implement a diversified training mode in postgraduate training, that is, pay equal attention to the training of academic talents and practical talents, and make master's degree a transitional education with reference to foreign successful practices.

With the continuous expansion of the enrollment scale of graduate students in colleges and universities across the country, the employment situation of graduate students is becoming increasingly severe and the employment competition is becoming increasingly fierce. Facing the pressure, the law school takes improving the quality of postgraduate training as the main strategy, pays attention to cultivating students' comprehensive ability, strengthens employment guidance and broadens employment channels, so that the graduate students in our college maintain a high employment rate. In 2004, the graduate employment rate was 97.3%. A few students whose work units have not been implemented after graduation have also found suitable work units and sent them out as fresh graduates according to the school policy. Postgraduate scholarships are divided into general scholarships, outstanding postgraduate scholarships and special scholarships. Ordinary scholarships are usually called living allowances, and bonuses are distributed to all non-directional and self-funded graduate students in the school, that is, master's and doctoral students with unified recruitment and classification; The bonus standard is 300 yuan per month for master students and 400 yuan per month for doctoral students.

Outstanding graduate scholarships are awarded to non-directional graduate students, self-funded graduate students and non-on-the-job graduate students, and are selected according to 20% of the total number of the above-mentioned personnel in June 65438+ 10 every year, of which 4% are first-class scholarships with the prize amount of 1500 yuan; 7% is a second-class scholarship with a prize amount of 1000 yuan; 9% is a third-class scholarship, and the prize amount is 700 yuan. The special scholarships for law school graduate students are mainly Blue Moon Scholarship, Baosteel Scholarship, Chinese Academy of Sciences Scholarship, Samsung Scholarship, which are all competitive in the whole school, and the Han Depei Law Prize (established in the name of Han Depei, a famous jurist and educator of Wuhan University, which awards 6 graduate students every year. The bonus amount is 2000 yuan per person) and the "Liberation of International Law Scholarship" (which is an award specially set up by Mr. Huang Jiefang, an outstanding alumnus of the Law School, for graduate students majoring in public international law, with the bonus amount of 2000 yuan per year). The special scholarship is also awarded on June 5- 10 every year, which is conducted at the same time as the selection of outstanding graduate students.

In order to alleviate the economic pressure of graduate students during their study and help them complete their studies smoothly, the relevant state departments, schools and banks have cooperated with each other to provide some graduate students with national student loans. The object of national student loans is self-funded graduate students. Each loan applicant can get a national student loan of 6,000 yuan per year, which is interest-free during school and begins to bear interest after graduation. Since 2003, China Industrial and Commercial Bank and China Bank have provided student loans to graduate students in our college, which have been warmly welcomed by the majority of graduate students.
