Jiujiang Vocational College can be traced back to Jiujiang Middle School Auditorium 1902. It is a public full-time municipal higher vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education. In April 2006, Jiujiang Vocational College and Jiujiang Teachers College merged and reorganized. In March 2009, Jiangxi Lushan Tourism Technical Secondary School was placed under Jiujiang Vocational College as a whole, and in June 20 15, Jiujiang Technical School was placed under Jiujiang Vocational College as a whole.

Now, the school has become a junior college to recruit four-year undergraduate students (vocational education undergraduate experimental class), three-year senior high school students and five-year junior high school students. It is a model vocational college in Jiangxi Province and a high-level vocational college in Jiangxi Province.
