It's some experience

Part 1 Listening

Special note: the listening content is only played once!

A 5 short dialogue, 1 small questions.

There is a long conversation and five small questions in paragraph B 2.

In fact, the length of the first two parts is not very difficult. The most important thing is to get yourself into the state as soon as possible. You can only listen once. If you don't hear the last question, guess one quickly. Don't affect the following questions.

C 5 short news, respectively 1 small questions, all from BBC or VOA news.

With only one month left, it's not a good idea for everyone to listen to BBC or VOA all the time. I suggest you go to BBC or VOA group Hujiang English study, where the content is generally screened. Listen to it every day and get familiar with the pronunciation of British and American people.

Section d 1 is a long article with * * 10 spaces. Please note that it may be a word or phrase.

In 2008, the first four words and the last six phrases were filled in this section.

However, among the C-level real questions in the preliminary competition in 2008, only the 26th sub-question is to fill in phrases, and the rest are to fill in words.

In 2009, the first seven words and the last three phrases were filled in this section.

Therefore, this year's initial test of Grade C, this part should be cautious, not sure that the front part must be words, and the back part must be phrases.

Finally, there are some tips about listening test. After all, the listening test of English competition is played by recording, and the quality of tapes distributed in each examination room is different, and the environment of the examination room is good or bad. Suppose you are really unlucky, the tape is unclear and the environment is noisy (the invigilator may not be able to help you, because most invigilators are not English teachers). Don't panic, calm down and try to listen to the key words, plus your own bold guess, the probability of guessing right is also great.

Part II Vocabulary and Structure

A *** 15 small question, the grammar knowledge of the test is not too difficult, and the degree is between Band 4 and Band 6. I suggest you speed up in this part to gain more time for a lot of reading later.

Part III Reading Comprehension

After reading paragraph A, choose the answers according to the questions, each of the five questions is 1 point. Compared with 2008, the topic 1 was added in this part in 2009.

Section B cancels the original Y/N/NG and fills it directly in the blank space of the abstract (which may be a word or a phrase) after reading the article. Five small questions get 2 points for each question, and some of them can be found in the original text.

C Fill in the blanks after reading the article, and score 2 points for each of the 5 small questions.

After reading the article, give a short answer in paragraph D, with 2 points for each of the five small questions. Pay attention to the completeness of the sentence pattern when answering questions.

The amount of reading is quite large, and the players who have participated in the college English competition generally agree. The number of reading questions in 2009 was similar to that in 2008, and the score was slightly higher. Here, I suggest that you take CET-6 at the same time, and those who have passed the exam can also try to get high marks. Find some CET-6 or postgraduate English questions to do speed exercises, pay attention to training the agility of thinking and speed up the problem.

The fourth part cloze

There are two kinds of cloze in 2008.

Paragraph A is a fill-in-the-blank type, and there are five alternative words in five spaces, which is not difficult.

Part B has seven spaces, and each word to be filled in has its initials.

However, in 2009, there was a new change in cloze, 15 fill in the blank, and every space 1 minute. These blanks have initials, and some have prototypes, prompting the answers to be filled in.

Cloze is mainly to test language sense and vocabulary. Some competitors feel "dizzy" after reading PartIII, and there is not enough time. You can skip this part first and come back later.

Part V Translation

The number of annual questions and the number of fractional questions.

2007 English-Chinese Translation

The English to be translated is a sentence in a short article. Chinese-English translation of 5 sentences *** 10

The Chinese to be translated is a directly given sentence. 5 sentences *** 10 score

In 2008, 5 sentences scored 8 points and 3 sentences scored 7 points.

In 2009, 5 sentences * * 10, 5 sentences *** 10.

Translation is arranged at the back, which is less difficult. So many competitors who wasted time in front and had to give up this project lamented afterwards. In 2009, the number and total score of translation questions given by sample questions returned to the level of 2007, but the difficulty was improved. These questions directly require the use of specific sentence patterns, such as the use of inverted structure in question 86 and the use of clauses in question 89.

Part VI IQ test

The IQ test questions in 2007 are arranged in the third part. It is estimated that too many people react that this part is time-consuming and laborious, and it is purely misleading to put it in front, but in any case, those five questions are multiple-choice questions.

In 2008, the IQ test was put in the sixth part and changed to fill in the blanks. Although it is also five questions, the difficulty should be slightly improved.

The sample questions in 2009 continued the distribution of questions in 2008, and the IQ test was placed in the lower position, which made the personal feeling less difficult. The same is 5 questions, ***5 points.

There are also some teachers who advocate leaving the IQ part blank, and wait until the composition is finished before reading it for the last time.

Part VII Writing

Different from other English exams, there are two compositions in English competition writing.

The first article is generally a practical article, such as a notice, an advertisement, a letter to a designated person, etc. So pay attention to the format of different practical articles, such as whether there is a necessary title or title at the beginning.

In 2009, the practical writing of sample questions was to write an application for the position of human resources assistant of about 80 words as required.

The second article is a common argumentative essay in CET-4 and CET-6, which is mainly about the topic close to students' life. It's important to make your point clear.

The title of this part of the argumentative essay in the sample question in 2009 is "What is the best way for young people to lose weight?" The required number of words is 100 words.

Writing in the preliminary competition is not difficult, and the final writing part is a good opportunity to cultivate your English level.

Of course, during the competition, we should also learn to give up some topics. Most of the competition topics are "flexible", involving extracurricular knowledge, calculation, intelligence test and so on. Suitable for students with a wide range of knowledge. Some of you can understand the questions and options and spend a lot of time, but you will still make mistakes.

The most important thing for preparing for the exam is to do more exercises. Sample questions and real questions over the years are good materials for training. Special note: there are only a few sets of real questions over the years, so we should cherish them and make good use of them. These topics can be downloaded from the English section of Shanghai Competition Forum ~
