Although the project of South Art School District has experienced some twists and turns, it has not been cancelled at present and is being promoted hard. Lishui Campus of Nanjing University of Arts has signed a contract to settle in Shiqiu Street, which will create a new landmark of cultural industry in southern Nanjing and form a dual campus pattern with Gulou Campus of Nanjing University of Arts.

Nanjing Art Institute, referred to as "Nanyi", is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. It is the only comprehensive art college in Jiangsu Province, and the earliest independent art institution in China, which continues to this day. Ranked first among the six major art colleges in China, and its comprehensive strength ranked first in the country.
