1, standard calculation method
That is, the weighted average. The most standard algorithm is to multiply the score of each course by the credits of this course, and then multiply it by 4. Then, divide by the product of the total credits and 100. In short, it is to calculate the weighted average of all subjects' scores and then convert them into a 4-point scale in proportion.
2. Simple 4-point algorithm
Which is the average score. The domestic 100 scale is a simple and rude one-to-one correspondence with the foreign 4 scale. That is to say, if your 2-credit PE elective course score is full score, your 6-credit math major course score is full score, which is exactly the same result under this calculation method.
3. Peking University algorithm
GPA = 4-3×( 100-X)2÷ 1600
X represents the percentage of performance, and x shall not be greater than 100 or less than 60. If x is less than 60, GPA is 0. This Peking University algorithm can be described as one of the most mainstream algorithms. Just looking at the formula is cumbersome, but it is always accurate and looks (wrong).
4.WES algorithm
WES, the World Education Service, is a non-profit organization in the United States, which provides certification for those who intend to study or work in the United States or Canada. Provide about 50,000 certificates every year. They set their own calculation rules. It is to convert the domestic 100 grade into 4 grade according to the corresponding interval, and then calculate the average grade point by weighted average method.
Although their report card certification is a fee-based service, small partners can calculate GPA for free through their tools.
5. British schools: Every school has its own standards.
Official website in many British universities has an official form of "average score certificate". You can download it from official website, calculate your average score, check it with the academic affairs office of your school or college, and sign and seal it. If it is really impossible to provide the "average score certificate" signed and sealed by the official university, then British universities have to calculate the average score of applicants in their own way according to the official transcripts provided by students.
