Weifang Institute of Science and Technology was founded in 1984. It is a full-time private undergraduate college established by Shouguang Municipal People's Government with the approval of the Ministry of Education and Shandong Provincial People's Government. It is a pilot college in Weifang National Vocational Education Innovation and Development Experimental Zone, a pilot college for directional training of noncommissioned officers, a master's degree awarding construction unit, and the first batch of application-oriented undergraduate colleges in Shandong Province.
