The College of Arts and Sciences of Yangtze University covers an area of about 400 mu. The College of Arts and Sciences of Yangtze University was established in April 2004 with the approval of Hubei Provincial Department of Education and Ministry of Education, and was undertaken by Yangtze University.

The College of Arts and Sciences of Yangtze University is located in the quaint and elegant urban campus of Yangtze University (formerly Jingzhou Normal University), with convenient transportation, complete facilities, superior conditions and its own system. It was once the place where Ma Rong, a famous politician, writer and educator in the Eastern Han Dynasty, set up an account to give lectures, and it was also the place where Zhang, a famous figure in the Ming Dynasty, studied. The campus is tree-lined, with a beautiful environment, a comprehensive building with classical architectural style, a magnificent library, spacious and bright student apartments, green Chi Pan water, quiet avenues and a unique humanistic atmosphere formed by long-term accumulation of history and culture. Throughout the ages, it has always been an ideal place for learning and cultivating talents.

The College of Arts and Sciences of Yangtze University offers majors to meet the needs of the market and society, and trains applied senior professionals for the country to implement the strategy of "rejuvenating the country through science and education" and "strengthening the country through talents" and build a well-off society in an all-round way. The college now has eight teaching units, including the Department of Economics and Trade, the Department of Humanities and Media, the Department of Foreign Languages, the Department of Electromechanical and Information Engineering, the Department of Medicine and Nursing, the Department of Business Administration, the Department of Architecture and Design and the Department of Basic Courses. * * * There are 35 undergraduate majors, with a major of 17, involving 9 disciplines: literature, law, economics, management, science, engineering, agriculture and medicine.
