1, Shandong University is strong in running schools. As of March 2023, Shandong University has a total area of more than 8,000 mu, forming a school-running pattern of eight campuses in three places (Jinan, Weihai and Qingdao), with 55 teaching departments, 4 affiliated hospitals, 3 non-affiliated hospitals and 1 1 teaching practice hospitals. Xiamen University has only 6 departments, 34 colleges (directly affiliated departments and directly affiliated centers) and 17 research institutes, and its running strength is not as good as that of Shandong University. There are 42,286 full-time undergraduates, 268 graduate students18 students, and international students 1560 students.

2. Shandong University has a strong faculty. By March 2023, Shandong University has 7,493 on-the-job teaching staff and 4,530 full-time teachers (excluding affiliated hospitals), while Xiamen University has only 3,000 full-time teachers, and the faculty of Xiamen University is half that of Shandong University.
