Liming Vocal Music University is located in Quanzhou, Fujian Province. It is a public full-time comprehensive general higher vocational college approved by the Fujian Provincial People's Government, put on record by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the Quanzhou Municipal People's Government. It is an advanced unit of vocational education in China, a national pilot university for training skilled talents, the first batch of provincial demonstration higher vocational colleges in Fujian Province, and a civilized school in Fujian Province.
The school's predecessor was Liming Senior High School, which was founded in the spring of 1929. Quanzhou Teachers College is located in Quanzhou, the first historical and cultural city in China and a famous hometown of overseas Chinese. The school, formerly known as Quanzhou University Teachers College, was founded in 1958. 1998 Quanzhou Teachers College, Quanzhou Education College and Quanzhou Teachers College merged to form a new Quanzhou Teachers College. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2000, it was officially upgraded to Quanzhou Normal University, which is the first newly-built local provincial undergraduate university in Fujian Province.
