School of Literature and Journalism and Communication, South-Central University for Nationalities
South-Central University for Nationalities is a comprehensive general institution of higher learning directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, located in the hometown of Baiyun Yellow Crane-the shore of South Lake in Wuhan. The school, formerly known as South-Central University for Nationalities, was founded in 195 1 and renamed South-Central University for Nationalities in March 2002. The University straddles Minzu Avenue and is located in the hinterland of Wuhan "Optical Valley". South Lake in the west of the school and Xiongchu Avenue in the north. Wuhan textile University is in the east, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law is in the south, and Huazhong Agricultural University is opposite the South Lake. The school covers an area of 1.446 mu, with a modern school building area of 689,400 square meters. The campus is full of trees and flowers, and there are rows of modern buildings with strong national characteristics. Lakes, mountains and mountains complement each other with human landscape. With a collection of 2.376 million books, the school has the first ethnology museum in China.
