Nanjing Forestry University is located at the foot of Zijin Mountain, a scenic mountain, on the blue lake of Xuanwu. It is a provincial key university jointly established by the central and local governments, and the first batch of "double first-class" universities in China. The school was formerly known as the Forestry Department of Central University (founded in 1902) and the Forestry Department of Jinling University (founded in 19 10).
Nanjing Forestry College, which was merged from 65438 to 0952, was one of the only three forestry colleges in China at that time. 1955 Huazhong agricultural college (formed by the merger of Wuhan university, Nanchang university and Hubei agricultural college) was merged with the forestry department, and 1972 was renamed Nanjing forestry industry institute. 1983 restored the name of Nanjing Forestry College, and 1985 changed its name to Nanjing Forestry University.
