Tea science major
The content of tea science research can be divided into two parts: tea science and tea culture. Students majoring in tea science mainly study the basic theories and knowledge of agricultural biological science, food science and tea science, and carry out training in tea planting and breeding, tea production and marketing, and have the basic abilities of tea planting and breeding, tea production, comprehensive utilization and marketing.

Tea specialty of Hunan Agricultural University was established in 1956, which was developed by tea production group of Hunan Agricultural University. Now it belongs to the art department of the campus, with a four-year academic system and a three-year master's degree in tea science. The research direction of tea science specialty includes the main functional components of tea, processing theory and technology, tea biotechnology and germplasm innovation, tea physiology and pollution-free cultivation. The tea major of this school has made great achievements in Hunan black tea research, and Professor Liu Zhonghua, a famous representative in the field of black tea research, is the leader of this school's tea major.
The Tea Department of Anhui Agricultural University was established in 1939, and is now affiliated to the College of Tea and Food Science and Technology of Anhui Agricultural University. It is the earliest and most comprehensive tea specialty in China. The college has a national teaching team, in which both Wang Zenong and Xie Chen, the contemporary "Cha Sheng", once taught. At present, the department has two undergraduate majors of tea science, tea culture and trade, including tea culture and trade, tea machinery, tea chemistry, tea cultivation and breeding, and tea processing.
