Xi University of Technology, located in Xi 'an, is a university jointly established by the central government and Shaanxi Province, a university jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Shaanxi Province, an implementation institution for the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions, a "first-class university in China" in Shaanxi Province, a provincial-level university in Shaanxi Province, a member of the New Silk Road University Alliance, and one of the 24 universities expanded by the China Graduate School Dean Association.
The school was founded in 1949, when the people's government took over the National Beiping Advanced Industrial Vocational School. Its predecessor was Shaanxi Institute of Machinery, which was formed by the merger of Beijing Institute of Machinery and Shaanxi University of Technology in 1972. On 1994, it was renamed as Xi University of Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
1998 the school was assigned to Shaanxi province by the Ministry of Mechanical Industry. In 2002, Shaanxi Province approved the merger of xi 'an Instrument Industry School into Xi 'an University of Technology.
As of March 2022, the three campuses of Jinhua, Qujiang and Lianhu and the University Science Park have a total area of 6.5438+0.352 million square meters. There are 17 colleges, 1 teaching departments and 69 undergraduate majors. There are 9 postdoctoral research stations, 1-class doctoral programs 15, 1-class master programs 13.
