Xi 'an Engineering University (XPU), located in the world famous historical and cultural city of Xi 'an, Shaanxi Province, is a provincial-level comprehensive undergraduate college with distinctive characteristics in the western part of China, which is established with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is characterized by the coordinated development of engineering, science, literature, management, economics, law, teaching and art, and is the first batch of "Shaanxi 201/kloc-0" in the "Education and Training Plan for Outstanding Engineers" of the Ministry of Education.

Xi University of Technology, formerly known as the Textile Department of Beijing Institute of Technology, was founded in 19 12. After that, it experienced the development stages of the Textile Department of National Peking University Institute of Technology, the Textile Department of Northwest Associated University and the Textile Department of Northwest Institute of Technology, and began to recruit graduate students majoring in textile engineering from 1959.
