Yang Xiaoli is from Guanpuyang Village, Lan Ju Township, Longquan City, Zhejiang Province. She was born into an unhappy family. 1996 9-year-old Yang Xiaoli and1/kloc-0-year-old sister Yang Xiaojuan suffered a major setback on the road of life-as the father of the family, they died suddenly one night. Two years later, the mother remarried with her two daughters. However. The quiet life didn't last long before it was broken. In 2003, her stepfather was diagnosed with gastric cancer, and she died in 2005. In March 2005, the bitter water sisters suffered another misfortune. Because of acute myelitis, the mother was completely paralyzed from the chest down, leading to high paraplegia. Since then, the burden of family has fallen on her and her younger sister's young shoulders. At this time, she was only 18 years old and her sister was 20 years old.

Because their hometown is an hour's drive from school, it is extremely inconvenient for the two sisters studying in the city to take care of their mother. On the one hand, they have to take care of their mother, on the other hand, they have to study. Two strong sisters made a big decision-to take their sick mother to school. Although mother Wu Huomei has always opposed it, at the insistence of the two sisters, mother had to agree to their arrangement. Yang Xiaoli thinks that her sister is a senior three and she is only a sophomore. In order to give her sister more time to prepare for the college entrance examination, Xiaoli persuades her sister to spend 80 yuan every month to rent a cabin less than 10 square meter next to the school. Then, the paralyzed mother was pulled out of the mountain step by step by tricycle and put in the hut. Since then, the two sisters have come back from school in turn every day to take care of their mother.

In 2006, my sister was admitted to a university in Hangzhou. Considering the high rent in Hangzhou, Yang Xiaoli insisted that his mother live with him and put the burden of taking care of her on himself. She gets up early every day, waits on her mother to wash and cook, goes home regularly in the afternoon to turn over for her mother, and wipes her body after self-study at night. In addition, it is very hard for Xiaoli to give her mother bowel irrigation once a week, because it is really difficult for her to turn over to her mother who is heavier than herself. Everything she used to do with her sister is now done by her. Because the catheter inserted in mother's body is blocked all the year round, she often has to clean the catheter for her mother.

Because there is no financial source at home, Yang Xiaoli sets aside some spare time to pick up cans and waste paper in the city every day to pay for her mother's medical expenses and her own study expenses. Despite the great pressure, Yang Xiaoli's academic performance has always been in the top five in his class. What's more, she has never cried, and she has never shed tears in front of teachers and classmates. Yang Xiaoli said that life doesn't believe in tears, and it's better to be happy if you cry for one day. Thinking that so many people are concerned about their families in the past two years, there are people less fortunate than themselves. She said to herself, I must learn to be strong for my mother. In this way, she worked hard and stubbornly to continue her studies.

In September 2007, Yang Xiaoli was admitted to Lishui Vocational and Technical College. Because of the high consumption in Hangzhou, she left her mother with her. When she entered school, she took her mother from Longquan to Lishui and continued to take care of her. Besides studying and taking care of her mother, Yang Xiaoli also actively participates in social services. After democratic election, her classmates unanimously elected her as the Communist Youth League Secretary, responsible for team work and team activities. She herself is willing to do her best to do this job well, help more students, serve them better, and do her best to bring them more laughter and happiness.

Over the years, she did not bow to fate and insisted on sending her mother to school, which was well received by the society. From June 65438 to October 2005 10, CCTV, Youth Times, Qianjiang Dushi, Zhejiang Education Information News, Lishui Daily, Lishui TV Station, Chuzhou Evening News and other media successively publicized Yang Xiaoli's story of self-improvement and carrying his mother to school. Around Women's Day on March 8th this year, Yang Xiaoli's deeds were also reported in CCTV's news broadcast, news 30 minutes, and attention to * *.

The touching story of Yang Xiaoli's going to school behind his mother's back was broadcast on CCTV's News Network and other columns, which aroused strong repercussions throughout the country. Telephone calls and letters of condolence were sent from all over the country, and donations were made for education in Yang Xiaoli.

On September 14, 2007, Yang Xiaoli went to Hangzhou to accept the commendation meeting of "Zhejiang Advanced Individual in Moral Construction". Advanced individuals in moral construction can be divided into five categories: helping others, being brave, being honest and trustworthy, being willing to contribute, being filial to the elderly and loving their loved ones. And she is the only representative in Lishui who has been rated as an advanced individual.
