There are two main ways for senior high school students in China to study abroad: one is to directly apply for college entrance examination results from foreign universities, and the other is to complete the preparatory course before entering the first year of HKUST.
At present, many countries in the world recognize China's college entrance examination results, such as Britain, Australia, New Zealand and the United States, which all accept applications for college entrance examination results.
Take studying in the UK as an example. Universities in the UK that accept the college entrance examination results include Cambridge University, Glasgow University, Durham University, Birmingham University, Southampton University, Leeds University, Cardiff University, Exeter University, Queen Mary University of London, University of Reading, Queen Belfast University and so on.
Applying for studying in the UK usually requires more than 75%-85% of the total scores of provinces and cities, and IELTS must reach at least 6.0 -6.5.
Undergraduate preparatory courses are mainly aimed at students who want to go to foreign universities to study undergraduate courses, but cannot directly apply for undergraduate degree courses due to their own language ability limitations, lack of professional foundation, differences in education system and other reasons. Britain, Australia and New Zealand all offer preparatory courses as the way and basis for upgrading to university degree courses.
The requirements for preparatory courses will be lower, and applications can be submitted as early as the second year of high school, which is a common way for students to study abroad. After graduating from the preparatory course, you can directly enter the undergraduate course. Applying for matriculation usually requires an average score of 75%-80% and above in high school and an IELTS score of 5.5 -6.0.
