Jingdezhen Ceramic University is the only multi-disciplinary undergraduate college named after ceramics in China, one of the 30 independent undergraduate art colleges in China, and one of the first 94 universities that are all qualified to recruit foreign students who enjoy China government scholarships to study for master's and bachelor's degrees.

Historical evolution: the school was formerly China Ceramic School founded by 19 10; 1947 Jiangxi Institute of Ceramics became one of the five universities in Jiangxi Province at that time. Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute was founded in 1958, which was under the former Ministry of Light Industry.

By March 2022, the school had three campuses in Hu Xiang, Xinchang and China Institute of Light Industry Ceramics and a ceramic training park, covering an area of 1970 mu and a construction area of nearly 700,000 square meters. There are 12 teaching colleges (departments and departments), 59 undergraduate majors, 3 first-class doctoral programs, 13 first-class master programs and 8 professional master programs.
