At present, the site of Wuda University is designated by Wang Shijie and Li Siguang. Wang Shijie made great efforts for the establishment and development of Wuhan University. He himself thinks that Wu Da is the highest achievement of his life.

He even said to his children in Taidao's last will: "When I build a monument in the future, all titles should be removed, only the tomb of Mr. Wang Xueting, the former president of Wuhan University". It can be seen that although Wang Shijie was a little tired of his previous official career, he always devoted infinite affection and goodwill to the national Wuhan University he founded.

1929 On March 5th, the Ministry of Education of the National Government appointed Wang Shijie as the president of the National Wuhan University, and he officially took office in mid-May. Wang Shijie plans to build Wuhan University into a comprehensive national university with six colleges of arts, law, science, engineering, agriculture and medicine and more than 10,000 students.

On May 22nd 1929, Wang Shijie said: "I'm not here to defend Wuhan University. The purpose of my visit is to create a new Wuhan University."
