Causes and countermeasures of individual safety problems of college students

With the development of higher education in China, the enrollment scale of colleges and universities has been expanding, and "university towns" have been established in various places. There is a tendency for schools to gradually migrate to urban fringe areas.

Elegant and remote teaching environment not only facilitates college students' study, but also brings security risks. In recent years, the safety of college students has gradually attracted widespread attention from all walks of life. The incidents of students losing contact or having accidents are endless, which brings new challenges to the management of college students. "When carrying out safety education for college students, the foundation and premise of creating a safe and stable campus environment is not only related to the image building of the school, but also to the stable development of the whole society. " [ 1]

First, the importance of safety education for college students

Safety education for college students is an important guarantee for college students to successfully complete higher education. Students face many hidden dangers in their daily study life and extracurricular activities. If these hidden dangers are not prevented in advance or handled improperly, they will affect the normal growth and development of students and hinder the management of college students. Fire accidents, traffic accidents and drowning accidents among college students are on the rise year by year. This is caused by the lack of safety education for college students and the weak safety awareness of students. Therefore, it is urgent to strengthen college students' safety education.

Second, the types of personal safety problems of college students

The safety of college students can be roughly divided into three categories, namely, personal safety, financial safety and information safety. Each of these categories has many subtle branches. Classifying the safety problems that are easy to occur among college students is helpful for college student workers to be more targeted in safety education for students.

1. Personal safety is the most important. Entering the university stage, students are all adults, psychologically and physically mature, but their safety awareness is weak, and they have no clear understanding of the personal safety threats in society. I always thought it was safe as long as I was on campus. For example, the illegal use of electrical appliances in dormitories will cause fire and personal injury to students. For another example, in order to improve the campus environment, many colleges and universities dig and build artificial lakes on campus, and students are prone to drowning accidents. Various factors are potential threats to students' personal safety. Secondly, the force majeure of natural disasters such as earthquakes, mudslides and floods is also the cause of students' personal safety problems.

2. The lure of financial security interests is often an important reason for all kinds of crimes. Students are relatively independent during their college years. Some people leave their hometown to study in other places alone, and their parents have little financial management over their students. Basically, every college student can independently allocate his living expenses and other expenses. However, there are often omissions in financial management, such as the theft of dormitory finance by outsiders, the theft of dormitory members themselves, and criminals defrauding students of money through online means.

3. Information Security With the rapid development of the Internet, the world has gradually entered the era of big data, and some lawless elements have used illegal means to obtain student information. The disclosure of students' information often hides great threats. For example, some students' identity information or mobile phone numbers are stolen, and criminals can impersonate students themselves or friends to defraud people around them. Some enterprises and salespeople cheat students' information, call or send text messages to students for recruitment, promotion, enrollment and other harassment, which brings great trouble to students' daily study and life.

Third, the causes of college students' safety problems

1. The weak safety awareness of college students is a common problem among college students. Students have no clear understanding of safety issues. Financial losses and information leakage in personal safety are all caused by students' weak safety awareness.

2. The effectiveness of safety education is insufficient. At present, the forms of safety education in colleges and universities are limited to meetings, issuing safety manuals and other conventional safety education forms. It is difficult for students to gain useful safety knowledge from it. A single lecture and boring preaching can't arouse students' awareness of self-protection. In addition, after the implementation of safety education activities, there is no timely follow-up investigation and feedback, and it is impossible to know whether students have improved their understanding and understanding of college students' safety issues after receiving safety education.

3. Lack of perfect management system In addition to students' self-protection and safety awareness, student management in colleges and universities also needs to be improved. When formulating and implementing student management regulations, we must attach importance to student safety.

(1) The management system of student dormitories is not strict. Student dormitory is the "hardest hit" for college students to have safety accidents. Fires and thefts happen from time to time, which pose a great threat to students' personal safety and financial security. In some schools, students come home late or at will, so it is difficult to ensure the personal safety outside the school. Some regulations lack punishment for students' violations, while others are limited to criticism and education, so it is difficult for students to feel the deterrent power of the system.

(2) The management system of students leaving school is not strict. The management system of students leaving school is loose. Students can leave school at will, without asking for leave from counselors or communicating with guardians. Students' leaving school rate and returning to school rate are not reported in time on major holidays, which leads to the students' managers unable to grasp the students' dynamics. Once a student safety accident happens, it will be in a passive situation. Moreover, the division of accident responsibility is not clear, which brings great difficulty to the work of student management personnel.

(3) Students' daily behavior norms are not strict, which leads to students' random behavior. The daily code of conduct is not binding enough on students. For example, students fight at will in the corridor and often associate with social idlers in their spare time. All kinds of bad behaviors are likely to cause college students' safety accidents. However, the rules and regulations of some schools only cover students' behavior norms at school, but despise students' behavior outside school.

Fourth, the solution to the problem of college students' safety education

Strengthen students' ideological and political education and mental health education, and start with subjective initiative to enhance students' sense of self-protection and security. Improve various student management systems and carry out rich safety education activities. Follow-up inspection should be carried out when the system is implemented, safety education should be combined with students' quality education, and safety education should be the top priority of students' work.

In short, students' safety education should serve the needs of students and provide convenience for the school to manage students. Safety education should be targeted and flexible. When problems are found, they should be solved centrally, supervised and controlled at ordinary times, and students' managers should carry out safety education to create a harmonious and comfortable learning environment for students.
