The total length from Liangxiang to Narrow Mouth of the West Sixth Ring Road is 38.28 kilometers, which is the last section of the Sixth Ring Road and the most difficult to construct. There are many mountain sections connecting Fangshan, Mentougou, Changping and Haidian. At present, the greening of the West Sixth Ring Road and the setting of traffic signs have all ended, and the two-way four-lane road surface of the whole line is smooth and has been opened to traffic.

The opening of the West Sixth Ring Road also marks the opening of the Beijing Sixth Ring Road, which has been built for 8 years with a total length of 187.6 km. It is the longest circular highway in China at present, with a total investment of 18 1 100 million yuan, connecting Daguang (Jingcheng), Jingping, Tongyan, Jingha, Beijing-Tianjin, Beijing-Shanghai, Daguang (Jingkai), Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao, Jingkun, Jingyuan Road, Fushi Road, Jingxin, Beijing-Tibet and Shen Jing Road. The full opening of the Sixth Ring Road indicates that the framework of beijing expressway network has been basically completed, and the overall function of the road network will be greatly improved.

The Sixth Ring Road is an important ring-shaped high-speed traffic trunk line connecting Satellite City, the far and near suburbs of Beijing, all radial national highways in Beijing and 12 radial expressway. Among them, the West Sixth Ring Road passing through Fangshan, Fengtai, Mentougou and Haidian is an important part of Beijing Northwest Freight Corridor. The Sixth Ring Road will give full play to the role of intercepting and diverting transit traffic and improve the overall capacity of the road network.
