The college insists on expert research. The department heads are all professors with long-term teaching experience in Wuhan University. The teaching management of the college is undertaken by the backbone team selected by Wuhan University. Teachers with sub-high or above titles are all from Wuhan University. The main courses offered are taught by doctoral supervisors, full professors and associate professors of Wuhan University. According to the similar majors of Wuhan University, combining with its own talent training objectives, the college has made teaching plans and training programs. At present, the college library, computer center, training base, laboratory, multimedia classroom and other teaching facilities are complete. As the leading project of the pilot town of the United Nations Development Programme and the National Development and Reform Commission, the new campus of Luojia College is being promoted as a whole, which has laid a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the college.
Relying on the dominant disciplines of Wuhan University, the College has set up specialties according to the needs of economic and social development. There are 20 undergraduate majors in journalism, electronic information engineering, communication engineering, computer science and technology, software engineering, electrical engineering and automation, information management and information system, logistics management, financial management, accounting, marketing, international economy and trade, and English, and 5 majors in business English, computer application technology, computer network technology, electronic information engineering technology and e-commerce.
The college implements the credit system. Students who have completed the courses specified in the teaching plan with qualified grades and completed credits will be awarded undergraduate and junior college diplomas by Luojia College of Wuhan University. Undergraduate students who meet the conditions for awarding bachelor's degree will be awarded a bachelor's degree certificate by Luojia College of Wuhan University. Undergraduate students with excellent academic performance can take elective courses at the headquarters of Wuhan University and study for a double degree.
In the four years since its establishment, the students of our college have successively won the first prize in national english contest for college students in 2009 and 20 10, the individual final prize and the best organization prize in the second "Skills Champion" trial in Hubei Province, and the "excellent team" in the summer social practice activities of college students in Hubei Province in 2009. In all kinds of cultural performances held by provinces and cities and Wuhan University, teachers and students of our college won numerous awards. The proportion of the first graduates who passed the national postgraduate entrance examination this year reached 9.4%, including 24.4% in the Department of Biotechnology, 14. 1% in the Department of Electronic Information Science, and 1 1.5% in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation.
