Xiamen University, referred to as Xiamen University for short, 192 1 was founded by Chen Jiageng, an overseas Chinese, on1April 1999. Formerly known as private Xiamen University, it is the first university founded by overseas Chinese in the history of modern education in China.
1In July, 937, Xiamen University was changed from private to national and renamed as National Xiamen University. At present, Xiamen University is a comprehensive key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), a high-level university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Fujian Province and Xiamen City, and a national "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project".
On April 6th, 192 1, the opening ceremony of Jimei School of Xiamen University was held, and the first university founded by overseas Chinese in China was announced. At the beginning, the school had two departments: Teachers College and Business School. There are two subjects in normal schools, namely, no harmony and reason. The academic system is two years of preparatory course and four years of undergraduate course.
2. Jimei University
Jimei University is a key construction university in Fujian Province. The Ministry of Transport and Fujian Province, the State Oceanic Administration and Fujian Province, and Fujian Province and Xiamen City jointly established universities, and awarded doctoral degrees and exempted from master's degrees.
School-running began with Jimei School Normal Department founded by Chen Jiageng, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader, on 19 1920. 1994 Jimei Normal University, Jimei Navigation College, Jimei Finance and Economics College, Xiamen Fisheries College and Fujian Institute of Physical Education merged to form Jimei University.
3. Xiamen Institute of Technology
Xiamen Institute of Technology is a full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. It has been selected as a first-class discipline construction university in Fujian Province, a pilot university of Fujian-Taiwan joint talent training project, an excellent engineer education and training plan, and a new engineering research and practice project.
The school's predecessor was Lujiang Vocational College, which was founded in 198 1. In 2004, it was upgraded with the approval of the Ministry of Education and renamed Xiamen Institute of Technology. In May, 2007, it passed the evaluation of authorized units and majors of bachelor's degree. 20 1 1 Xiamen Software Vocational and Technical College merged into Xiamen Institute of Technology.
4. Xiamen Institute of Software
Xiamen Software College (full name Xiamen Software Vocational and Technical College) is located in Jimei University Town, Xiamen, where there are many universities, profound cultural heritage and convenient transportation.
With the strong support and leadership of the Fujian Provincial Department of Education and the Xiamen Municipal Government, it is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning facing the national college entrance examination with the approval of the Fujian Provincial People's Government and the record of the Ministry of Education.
5. Xiamen Medical College
Xiamen Medical College is a full-time public undergraduate college located in Xiamen, Fujian Province.
The school was formerly known as Xiamen Nursing School, Xiamen Physician School and Xiamen Midwifery School. 1953 due to the weak faculty of medical schools in this area, the three schools were integrated to establish Xiamen Health School in Fujian. In 2007, it was renamed Xiamen Medical College with the approval of the Ministry of Education. On March 20 16, Xiamen Medical College was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
