Tsinghua or Peking University, who is the official?
Tsinghua and Peking University are key universities supported by the state, but under China's education system, universities have administrative levels.

First, according to the administrative level, China's colleges and universities are divided into three categories:

(1) National key universities, of which 3 1 universities are vice-ministerial universities determined by the state. Party secretaries and presidents of these universities are all vice-ministerial universities, and Tsinghua and Peking University belong to them. The administrative level of school presidents is all vice-ministerial. The remaining 29 universities include China Renmin University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beihang University, Beijing Normal University, China Agricultural University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, University of Science and Technology of China, Xi Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Zhejiang University, Nankai University, Tianjin University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University, Sichuan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Jilin University, Xiamen University, Dalian University of Technology and Shandong. In addition, the National Defense Science and Technology University is a deputy military level (equivalent to a deputy ministerial level).

(2) Other general national undergraduate schools are basically bureau-level. The secretaries and presidents of these universities are generally bureau-level, and these universities are mainly at the provincial level.

(three) the general college is the deputy department level, and the secretary and dean are the deputy department level.

2. Who is more important, Tsinghua University or the president of Peking University?

The principals of Tsinghua and Peking University are both deputy ministerial level, and there is no saying that the principals of any school are bigger. Under normal circumstances, the presidents of the two universities should be at the same level. Unless there is a situation of high matching in a school, for example, one of the colleges and universities is a minister-level person to be the principal, then there will be a situation in which the ranks of the two are different, but this situation is generally rare.

It is precisely because the administrative level of the presidents of these colleges and universities is the deputy ministerial level that presidents, secretaries and officials of other ministries and commissions can flow with each other in many cases. For example, the principals of Tsinghua and Peking University may become deputy ministers of the Ministry of Education or be promoted to ministers, which is common.
