Baling Middle School was handed over to Yueyang Education Bureau by Sinopec Baling Petrochemical Co., Ltd. in June 2004. Before the handover, Baling Middle School was a factory and mine secondary school affiliated to Baling Petrochemical Company. In May 2002, it was formed by the merger of Dongdong Middle School and Yingshan Middle School. The first two schools were founded in the early 1970s and 1990s respectively. After twenty or thirty years' efforts, they have accumulated rich teaching resources, achieved remarkable results and enjoyed a high reputation (Deng Zhou, Zhang Ping, Qing and Qing were all there five years before the merger of the two universities, and they were admitted to Peking University). The combination of the two universities has realized the optimization of resources and created positive conditions for building a competitive, high-grade and high-standard brand school.
