Xi University of Architecture and Technology is a university.
Xi University of Architecture and Technology is located in the famous historical and cultural city Xi. It has two campuses, Yanta and Caotang, and a science and education industrial park. Yanta Campus overlooks the famous Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Tang Dynasty in the south and the world-famous ancient city wall in Ming Dynasty in the north. Caotang Campus is located at the northern foot of Qinling Mountains, adjacent to Caotang Temple, a thousand-year-old temple.
The school has a long history and profound connotation, which can be traced back to Beiyang University founded by 1895. 1956, when the departments of colleges and universities in China were adjusted, they were merged from the departments (branches) of civil engineering, architecture and municipal administration of Northeast Institute of Technology, Northwest Institute of Technology, Qingdao Institute of Technology and Sunan Institute of Technology.
1959 and 1963, the school was renamed as Xi 'an Metallurgical Institute and Xi 'an Metallurgical Architecture Institute. On March 8th, 1994 was renamed as "Xi University of Architecture and Technology" with the approval of the former State Education Commission.
1998 School is under the management of Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, and now it is the implementing agency of "National Construction of High-level Universities Project" and "Basic Capacity Building Project of Central and Western Universities", a key high-level university in Shaanxi Province, the Ministry of Education, Shaanxi Province and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
The first batch of national outstanding engineer education and training plan, the national international science and technology cooperation base, the national master of engineering education innovation college, and the national public postgraduate project to build a high-level university. It is a university characterized by civil engineering, environmental municipal administration, material metallurgy and other related disciplines, with engineering technology as the main body and coordinated development of multiple disciplines.
