Grade A majors of Shanxi Agricultural University include food science and engineering, bioengineering, food quality and safety, computer science and technology, electronic information science and technology, network engineering, Internet of Things engineering, agronomy, plant protection, agronomy education, animal and plant quarantine, etc. There is no mechanical major.

Shanxi Agricultural University (SXAU), referred to as "Shanxi Agricultural University" for short, is a national key university established by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and has been selected into the "Education and Training Plan for Outstanding Agricultural and Forestry Talents" and the "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Central and Western Regions".
