High-level athletes and application conditions

Every college entrance examination, there will always be students who enjoy the preferential enrollment policy because of their outstanding sports achievements and enter the university with relatively low scores. With their own advantages in sports, they have won more opportunities to enter colleges and universities for further study. Candidates who want to apply for high-level athletes need to be no more than 22 years old and have one of the following two conditions to apply for the exam: graduated from high school, obtained the national second-class athlete certificate (including above) and won the top six in collective events or the top three in individual events in high school; Have the same educational level in high school, have obtained the national first-class athlete certificate (including above) or have won the top eight players in national or international team competitions in the past three years.

High-level athletes and individual sports

High-level athletes, commonly known as sports specialty students, generally refer to candidates who have sports expertise in high school and enjoy certain preferential policies when registering for the college entrance examination through the enrollment method of high-level athletes. Sports single move is aimed at enrolling students in advance for sports training majors and national traditional sports majors. Compared with high-level athletes, their registration qualifications are very similar, but there are great differences in recruitment and admission methods.

In terms of enrollment institutions, taking Beijing as an example, in 2008, there were 23 enrollment institutions for high-level athletes, and only four universities were Beijing Sport University, Beijing Normal University, Minzu University of China and Capital Institute of Physical Education.

In terms of examination methods, the cultural test of high-level athletes is to participate in the unified entrance examination of ordinary colleges and universities, and the sports test generally needs to pass the unified test of all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the special sports test organized by the participating schools according to the construction of sports teams in our school. Sports single strokes must also pass cultural tests and special sports tests. Among them, the cultural test is organized by the Department of Science and Education of the State Sports General Administration, and the special sports test is organized by the enrollment institutions, and the unified examination methods and scoring standards formulated by the State Sports General Administration are implemented.

In terms of admission methods, high-level athletes can be admitted as long as they pass special sports tests and their cultural achievements reach the second batch of undergraduate admission scores. A few candidates who have achieved outstanding results in physical education tests have reached 60% of the second batch of undergraduate admission scores, but such candidates cannot exceed 15% of the number of high-level athletes admitted to the school. Sports single strokes, the admission criteria are determined by the admissions institution according to the candidates' sports special scores and comprehensive scores.

Mr. Hao Zhiqiang, director of the Admissions Office of Beijing Institute of Technology, introduced the enrollment method of high-level athletes' single recruit examination.

The entrance examination for high-level athletes is divided into unified examination and single examination. The vast majority of candidates are admitted according to the unified examination, and some candidates who have obtained the titles of first-class athletes, athletes, international masters and martial arts (or above) after their own application can take separate examinations for cultural courses conducted by the enrollment school.

The independent examination subjects organized by the school shall not be less than 3 subjects, among which Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages are compulsory subjects. The assessment criteria should meet the requirements of the senior secondary education graduation examination.

The first-class athletes recruited by colleges and universities through individual examinations shall not exceed 20% of the total number of high-level athletes recruited by schools.

The enrollment school confirms the list of candidates who can complete the professional training and teaching tasks from the candidates who have passed the cultural examination and the physical education class examination, and approves the enrollment at the provincial level where the students are located, and goes through the admission procedures.
