2. Jida College of Literature: The College of Literature, formerly known as the Chinese Department and the History Department, was founded in 1952. The College of Literature was established in May, 20001year by merging the original college, history department, archaeology and museum department, international exchange college, ancient books research institute and university Chinese teaching and research departments of four other campuses. Including literature, history, education and art, and 8 first-class disciplines. It has a talent training and scientific research base for the history discipline of the Ministry of Education and a key research base for humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education. It is the most extensive college-level teaching and research unit in Jilin University at present.

College of Earth Sciences of Jilin University, formerly known as Department of Geology of Changchun Institute of Geology. 195 1 According to the needs of national large-scale economic construction, Northeast Institute of Geology was established, with Professor Li Siguang, a famous geologist, as the president. 1952 faculty adjustment, part of Northeast Institute of Geology, Department of Geology and Mineral Resources of Shandong University and Department of Physics of Northeast University of Technology merged to form Northeast Institute of Geology and Department of Geology and Mineral Exploration. 1958 The Department of Geology and Mineral Exploration of Northeast Institute of Geology was renamed as the Department of Geology of Changchun Institute of Geology. Professor Yu (academician), a famous geologist, a stratigraphic paleontologist, Professor Dong Shenbao (academician), a sedimentologist Ye (academician), Professor Wu, a structural geologist, Professor Zhang Shouchang and Professor Hu Yitong, a prospecting engineer, have all engaged in teaching, scientific research and leadership in the college.
