The following universities were split from Nanjing University:

1, 1952, the forestry department of the Agricultural College of Nanjing University became independent and established Nanjing Forestry University;

2. 1956 The Aviation Department of Engineering College of Nanjing University was independent, and East China Aviation College was established, then moved to Xi 'an and renamed Xi 'an Aviation College. 1957 was merged into Northwestern Polytechnical University;

3. 1952 The Department of Frontier Politics of Nanjing University became independent and established Nanjing Normal University. 1984 changed its name to Nanjing Normal University;

4. 1952 The Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, Nanjing University was established as Shandong Agricultural University.
