What's the difference between English pre-university courses and language courses?
1. There are two kinds of college preparatory courses in Britain: undergraduate preparatory courses and master preparatory courses.

Undergraduate preparatory course: a one-year preparatory course mainly for students applying for British undergraduate courses, with the aim of improving their English level and academic foundation.

Pre-master's degree: it is aimed at students applying for a master's degree in the UK. Because some students' IELTS or average scores can't meet the requirements of master's admission, they are offered a one-year basic course.

Educational system of preparatory course: preparatory course has one year, six months and three months.

Start time: different schools set different start dates according to the students' situation.

Ways of further study: After finishing the preparatory course, you can continue to study for an undergraduate or master's degree in the UK through application.

2. There are two kinds of language courses in British universities: pre-class English and general English.

General English: This kind of language class takes a long time, generally 20 weeks, 30 weeks and 40 weeks. This kind of language courses mainly provide opportunities for students with weak IELTS foundation to study in the UK.

English before class: This kind of language class is different, and the time is relatively short. Generally, there are 4 weeks, 5 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 10 weeks, 12 weeks and other courses of different degrees. This kind of courses mainly fail to meet the IELTS requirements of undergraduate masters, but they are not the language requirements of many students. Therefore, students can successfully continue their master's courses after successfully completing the language courses. Generally, applications are concentrated in March, April and May of the first year of school.
