With a long history of 127, Tongshe University is a representative university in Japan. Gay Society English School was established in 1875, founded by Shinjima, the first university in Japan to obtain a degree from a higher education institution in Europe and America, and is known as internationalization. The founder, Shinjima Xiang, takes internationalism and Christian teachings as the spirit of running a school, and his educational concept of "shaping an upright person with a sense of justice (conscience)" has been passed down from generation to generation by "basic people".

At present, Tongshe University has six undergraduate majors and eight graduate research departments, where you can learn the knowledge of studying human, society and nature in many academic fields around the world.

1In April, 1994, the school established the International Students College (Japan Education Center) to teach Japanese and deepen the understanding of Japanese culture.

Take Kyoto, the ancient capital of thousands of years, as the geographical background.

Tongshe University has two teaching buildings. Jindechuan Campus is located in the north of Kyoto Palace in the center of Kyoto City, adjacent to the famous Suoguo Temple, and is the birthplace of Tongshe University with a history of 127. The five buildings on campus are all national key protected cultural relics. At the same time, the artistic and cultural traditions of the ancient capital also endow Tongshe University with unique academic value. It can be said that personally experiencing this experience of Kyoto culture is also a wealth of life. Located in the south of Kyoto Prefecture, Jingtianbian Campus is surrounded by green nature. The spacious campus covering an area of 790,000 square meters has the latest teaching facilities and modern architectural style teaching buildings. More than 24,000 foreign students are studying in this educational environment that combines history, tradition and freshness.

A university with a large number of international students and open to the world.

At first, it was donated by Americans, and later, it accepted many foreign donations. The gay community that grew up with these supports has been open to the whole world since the beginning of school.

By May of 20001year, there were 289 foreign students (from 25 countries and regions in the world) studying in undergraduate, postgraduate and foreign students' colleges. Among them, there are 133 international students from Chinese mainland, 5 1 student from South Korea and 7 students from Taiwan Province province of China. They live a full university life through study and communication. In addition, the alumni association organized by our graduates has 10 branches in Chinese mainland, Korea and Taiwan Province province of China.
