Abstract: In order to explore the effective components in pumpkin that have effects on blood sugar of normal and diabetic mice, a new separation process was adopted to extract pumpkin crude polysaccharide from pumpkin powder, and three components were obtained by DEAE fractionation. The main components collected were classified by Sephadex G- 100 column, and the active components were screened by the blood glucose value of mice, and the active components (PP-CG) were collected by Sephadex G-. According to gas chromatography, monosaccharide composition is glucose, galactose, arabinose and rhamnose. According to HPLC analysis, the polysaccharide is a heteropolysaccharide with molecular weight of 1. 16× 10 5U.

Abstract: The chemical constituents with antibacterial (bactericidal) effects in plants in recent years were reviewed, including terpenoids, alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, quinones, coumarins, lignans, stilbenes, amines, esters, phenols, aldehydes, alcohols, steroids, organic acids and essential oils. The problems existing in the development of botanical fungicides were analyzed.
