The physical education department of Guizhou University was merged from the former Guizhou University and the former Guizhou University of Technology in 2004, and it is one of the largest school physical education departments in the province. The Department of Physical Education consists of offices, teaching and research sections for physical education majors, public teaching and research sections for physical education, testing centers for students' physical health standards, management centers for high-level sports teams, teaching and research departments, and venues and equipment management centers. The teaching department now has a physical education undergraduate major and several high-level sports teams. To undertake the teaching of physical education majors and public physical education courses in the whole school, the test of students' physical health standards, the training of high-level sports teams and the organization and guidance of extracurricular sports activities.
