Southwestern University of Finance and Economics is not a 985 engineering university. Southwestern University of Finance and Economics is a university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), a national "world-class discipline construction university", a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Sichuan Province, and a university jointly established by the national "21/Project" and "985 Engineering Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform". The School of Extended Materials started from Guanghua University, and 1925 was founded in Shanghai. 1938 Guanghua University moved to Chengdu in the bonfire of the Anti-Japanese War and established Guanghua University Chengdu Branch. 1946 changed its name to private Chenghua University. 1952 Private Chenghua University was changed to public, and some departments were transferred to form Sichuan University of Finance and Economics; By 1953, the financial departments of universities in Southwest China 17 have gathered. 1960 Sichuan university of finance and economics and Sichuan university of science and technology were established respectively, and in 196 1 year they merged and renamed Chengdu university. 1978 resumed as Sichuan University of Finance and Economics. 1979 was transferred from the Governor of Sichuan Provincial People's Government to the Governor of China People's Bank. 1985 changed its name to Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
