Beijing Institute of Technology is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, focusing on science and engineering, with the coordinated development of engineering, science, management and literature. It is the first batch of key universities in "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project" and a member of "Sino-Russian Union of Engineering Universities". The school's predecessor, Beijing Institute of Technology, originated from Yan 'an Academy of Natural Sciences, and 1940 was established in Yan 'an. It is the first science and engineering university founded by China * * * Production Party. 1988, the school was renamed Beijing Institute of Technology.
