The higher education self-study exam is a national exam for learners' college education level. It is an open higher education form that combines individual self-study, social assistance and national examination, and it is one of the basic systems of higher education in China.
The Higher Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) clearly stipulates that the state implements the system of self-study examination for higher education, and those who pass the examination will be awarded corresponding academic certificates. The Provisional Regulations on Higher Education Self-taught Examination promulgated by the State Council clearly stipulates that "graduates of higher education self-taught examination are treated equally with similar graduates of ordinary colleges and universities" and can take the postgraduate entrance examination and study abroad.
Among them, institutions of higher learning in Australia and Britain all admit that there are more than 20 countries in the world that recognize self-taught qualifications.
