Weifang Institute of Science and Technology is a full-time application-oriented undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education and established by Shouguang Municipal People's Government. It is a pilot college in Weifang National Vocational Education Innovation and Development Experimental Zone and a pilot college for directional training of non-commissioned officers. The master's degree is awarded to the construction unit.
The school now has 16 secondary colleges, including Jia Sixie Agricultural College, China-India Computer Software College, Civil Engineering College, Electrical Automation College, Mechanical Engineering College, Chemical Engineering and Environment College, Economic Management College, Business Administration College, Foreign Language and Tourism College, Art and Media College, Normal Education College, Nursing College and NCO College, with 4 undergraduate majors and 38 specialist majors.
Among them, the Ministry of Education has carried out two comprehensive reform pilots, two outstanding agricultural and forestry personnel training pilots, and five provincial-level specialty advantages, and cultivated specialty groups of dominant disciplines such as horticulture technology, marine chemical engineering, mechatronics, information technology, and formed a discipline system with engineering as the main body and agronomy as the characteristic, with the coordinated development of engineering, agronomy, science, literature, management, education, art and medicine.
