Northern Jiaotong University, China University,1949 In July, the people's government officially took over Tangshan Jiaotong University (now Southwest Jiaotong University), held a takeover ceremony, and announced the establishment of China Jiaotong University on the same day. China Jiaotong University consists of National Tangshan Institute of Technology (now Southwest Jiaotong University), National Beiping Railway Management Institute (now Beijing Jiaotong University) and North China Jiaotong University, which moved from the liberated areas. Since then, under the leadership of the Party, Tangshan Jiaotong University has become Tangshan Institute of Technology of China Jiaotong University, and Beiping Railway Management College has become Beiping Railway Management College of China Jiaotong University. 1950, China jiaotong university was renamed as "northern jiaotong university" with the approval of the State Council, the central people's government. Since then, the original post of the name of "Northern Jiaotong University" inscribed by Chairman Mao has been written by alumni of Peking University. 1952, due to the adjustment of departments, the name of Northern Jiaotong University was revoked, and two Tang Ping universities became independent, becoming Tangshan Railway Institute and Beijing Railway Institute respectively. 197 1 year, according to the layout of the central third line, Tangshan Railway Institute moved to Sichuan, and was renamed Southwest Jiaotong University in March 1972. At the same time, Beijing Railway Institute moved from Beijing to Shijiazhuang and changed its name to Northern Jiaotong University. On February 12, 2000, Southwest Jiaotong University was officially placed under the direct management of the Ministry of Education by the Ministry of Railways. In April of the same year, the former Beijing Electric Power Institute was merged into Northern Jiaotong University, and it was also placed under the direct management of the Ministry of Education from the Ministry of Railways.

In 2003, Northern Jiaotong University was renamed Beijing Jiaotong University.

In 2004, Southwest Jiaotong University built a new campus-Xipu Campus of Southwest Jiaotong University in xipu town, Chengdu High-tech West Zone, and the pattern of "one school, two places and three campuses" was formally formed.
