The hospital covers an area of 33 mu, with 374 beds actually open. There are eight clinical departments including ophthalmology, otolaryngology, radiotherapy, anesthesiology, emergency department, stomatology, laser plastic surgery and nursing, and five medical departments including radiology, pathology, pharmacy, laboratory and nutrition. Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology are divided into six tertiary disciplines, namely, vitreoretinal diseases, glaucoma and optic nerve diseases, cataracts and lens diseases, ocular surface diseases, optometry and strabismus and amblyopia diseases, orbital and ocular tumor diseases, otoneurosurgery, hearing and speech diseases, otoplastic surgery, head and neck surgery, nasal diseases and nasal diseases center and laryngology.

Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology and Otolaryngology are both key disciplines of the Ministry of Education, and they are also national key clinical specialties. Head and neck surgery is a key discipline in Shanghai. The hospital has the Key Laboratory of Auditory Medicine and Myopia of the Ministry of Health, the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Visual Injury and Reconstruction, and the Shanghai Auditory Clinical Medical Center. The hospital is the training base of ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology specialists of the Ministry of Health, the standardized training base of Shanghai residents, and the affiliated unit of Shanghai Ophthalmology Clinical Quality Control Center.
