The Institute of International Studies of Beijing Foreign Studies University, affiliated to the College, is a specialized scientific research institution, mainly engaged in the research of international politics, international relations, world economy, China's diplomacy and other issues, and carries out academic exchanges with foreign countries. Since its establishment, the Institute has devoted itself to academic research and achieved rich research results, becoming an influential international research institution in China. Since 2000, the researchers of the Institute have independently or participated in writing 8 kinds of academic books and teaching materials, translated and published 8 foreign academic monographs, and published more than 50 academic papers. He presided over the national social science fund project "Transnational political parties under the background of EU" in 2003 and participated in many national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects.

International Forum (bimonthly) is a comprehensive academic journal on international issues sponsored by the Institute. It adheres to the correct direction of running the journal and is recognized by the academic community in a short time. In 2000, this journal was rated as the core journal of humanities and social sciences in China, and was included in the full-text (CD-ROM version) of China Academic Journal and China Journal Network. It is the comprehensive evaluation database of Chinese academic journals, the citation database of humanities and social sciences in China and the source journal of citation index of Chinese social sciences, and became the national Chinese core journal in 2004.

The Center for Gender and Global Issues under the College is the first academic institution specializing in gender and global issues in China. The center carries out teaching and research through the combination of self-financing and school funding, with the goal of highlighting the characteristics of the institute in this field, expanding the foreign exchange platform of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and striving for a leading position in China. At present, the Ford Foundation and the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences will provide a certain amount of start-up funds for the start-up and curriculum promotion of the center.
