Guangxi Medical University is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is one of the 22 medical colleges established earlier in China, one of the first eight medical colleges in China to recruit foreign students, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students and overseas Chinese students, and one of the five key universities built by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
This university has seven undergraduate majors: clinical medicine, preventive medicine, stomatology, pharmacy, nursing, medical examination, information management and information system (medicine). In 2000, it was approved to set up a seven-year clinical medicine major, which enrolled students nationwide. It is the first university in Guangxi to obtain long-term qualifications.
