Introduction to Shanghai University of Political Science and Law

Founded in 1984, the school has gone through the stages of Shanghai Institute of Political Science and Law Management, Shanghai Law School and Shanghai University Law School.

The school has law schools (Mediation College), Economic Law School (Silk Road Law School), International Law School, Criminal Justice College (Discipline Inspection and Supervision College), Police College, Artificial Intelligence Law School, Economic Management College, Government Management College, Language and Culture College (International Exchange College), Shanghai Literature College, Marxism College, Continuing Education College and other teaching departments.

The school adheres to the discipline construction and leads the development. The discipline of law (including international law, administrative law, prison science, financial law, and environmental and resource protection law) is a first-class plateau discipline in Shanghai, and has formed a number of characteristic disciplines (directions) such as international law, administrative law, prison science, criminology, environmental and resource protection law, international politics, and the sinicization of Marxism. Some disciplines are in a leading position in Shanghai and even the whole country.

Efforts will be made to create emerging disciplines such as national security, artificial intelligence law, discipline inspection and supervision, and special disciplines such as urban governance and legal protection, "Belt and Road" justice, "Belt and Road" security and anti-terrorism research. At present, there are four master's programs in law, Marxist theory, journalism and communication and public administration, and six master's programs in law, international business, social work, journalism and communication, auditing and translation.
