Famous calligrapher of Beijing Normal University
In my impression, Qigong College was founded in 20 12 when Beijing Normal University held the birthday commemorative meeting of Qigong 100. It is also a cultural card of Beijing Normal University. At that time, the dean was Hu Zhifeng, dean of the School of Art and Media of Beijing Normal University. Two years ago, I heard that Yu Le became the vice president of Qigong College. I don't know when he became the dean.

Comparison between Christmas Calligraphy and Qigong Calligraphy

Yu Le was indeed the first doctoral student majoring in calligraphy in Beijing Normal University, but Mr. Qi Gong died the following year while studying for a master's degree. In addition, before his death, Mr. Qi Gong was always opposed to offering master's or doctoral courses in calligraphy. To talk about the relationship between teachers and students, Yu Le was guided by Mr. Qi Gong at most when he was an undergraduate. But now Yu Le's calligraphy completely imitates Mr. Qi Gong's handwriting, and his works are often given to Chinese and foreign friends as gifts by Beijing Normal University, giving people the illusion that he is a disciple handed down by Mr. Qi Gong.

Although Mr. Qi Gong made it clear that he didn't have any calligraphy disciples before his death, some people were actually apprenticed to him. Among them, the most recognized should be Mr. Qin Yonglong, director of the Department of Fine Arts and Calligraphy, School of Art and Media, Beijing Normal University. Teacher Qin Yonglong graduated from Beijing Normal University 1969 and stayed on as a teacher. It makes sense to learn from Mr. Qi Gong's calligraphy for a long time.

Qin Yonglong's Calligraphy Works

Mr. Qin Yonglong has made extensive copying and research on the important inscriptions in the past dynasties, and is good at learning from others and innovating on the basis of inheriting the tradition. So we usually see that many of Mr. Qin Yonglong's works are not all Mr. Qi Gong's calligraphy style, but have formed their own unique style.

Few people know that, in fact, the font "Fangzheng Qiti" written by Mr. Qin Yonglong has been widely recognized and applied by the society.

In contrast, Yu Le's gas calligraphy has an eight-point shape, but its spirit is still insufficient. In contemporary book circles, it is not uncommon for calligraphers to learn from Mr. Qi Gong's calligraphy style. The term "Four Disciples" of Qi Gong has been circulating on the Internet, but some "unreasonable names" have appeared because it has not been officially recognized by Mr. Qi Gong.
