Application of Nano in Life

Nanotechnology actually covers all physical and chemical technologies and processes in the nanometer range, and it is not an exaggeration to say that it is all-encompassing. The equipment made of nano-materials has lighter weight, stronger hardness, longer service life, lower maintenance cost and more convenient design. Nano-materials can also be used to make materials with specific properties or materials that do not exist in nature, and to make biological materials and bionic materials. But now there are many hype concepts, many of which are confined to the theoretical stage of the laboratory. What is more realistic is the lubricant in machinery, the catalyst in chemical industry and the fixed-point super-effective medicine in medicine.

building field

Using nanotechnology in the field of architecture can make a big difference in results. Indeed, some nanotechnology has been applied in the market. For example, in environmental protection projects, we see that new smart materials are mixed with nano-titanium dioxide particles and applied to self-cleaning of windows, buildings and roads. In Milan, 7,000 square meters of roads have used these energy materials, thus reducing the level of nitrogen dioxide by 60%.

Some nano-materials are also added to the new building materials, thus improving the mechanical strength, durability and insulation, and reducing the weight compared with traditional materials. For example, nano-ceramics are used in cement to increase strength. Sensor systems will be increasingly used in buildings, including monitoring the environment of buildings and the strength of any machinery.

Sensitive element system

Some sensor systems are used in buildings, similar to those discussed in the section on environment, but these sensors are mostly used to test the structural strength and wear of buildings and let people know the potential safety hazards in buildings. When the sensor is connected to the heating/air-conditioning system, choose the best setting, and the data collected by the sensor can provide environmental monitoring and even temperature control for the building.

Nanotechnology also helps to provide a detailed system-wide view of "architectural feeling". All sensors and monitoring data are transmitted to the central node for processing and then put into practice.

Electronic participation will be less, but it will be equally (or even more) powerful. They will use energy more efficiently and even use small solar cells effectively for their own power generation. Therefore, it is possible to make the system maintenance-free and durable.

Nano household appliances

At present, many electrical appliance companies have successively introduced novel nano household appliances. The so-called nano-household appliances are household appliances produced by nanotechnology.

In the nano-world, matter has made a qualitative leap. For example, copper with good conductivity does not conduct electricity at the nanometer level, while insulating silicon dioxide begins to conduct electricity at the nanometer level; Silicon dioxide ceramics are brittle under normal conditions, but when the particles of silicon dioxide ceramics are reduced to nanometer level, brittle ceramics have toughness.

When substances are refined to nanometer level, artificial nanomaterials have special properties and great uses. Adding nano-materials to the plane can absorb radar waves, so the stealth plane comes out. Tools made of nano-materials are harder than diamond tools. Computer chips and optical disks are processed into nanometer scale, and the operation speed and recording density are higher than normal orders of magnitude.

At present, nanotechnology is mainly used in the field of "healthy" household appliances such as antibacterial and bacteriostatic. For example, the nano-freezer currently on the market uses nano-treated materials in the parts where people's hands are easy to touch and bacteria are easy to invade, which can effectively inhibit the growth of bacteria, thus improving the antibacterial ability of the freezer.

Nano-washing machine, that is, the outer barrel of the washing machine is made of nano-materials, which makes the washing machine not only resistant to high temperature and wear, but also resistant to scaling.

It can be predicted that with more home appliance enterprises adopting nanotechnology, nano home appliances will become a hot product in the future market. At the same time, researcher Zhang Lide, the chief expert of the expert group on nanomaterials for major basic research in China, clearly pointed out: "Nanotechnology will have a wide and profound impact like information technology, which will be twenty or thirty years later."
