Wenzhou Teachers College (founded in 1956) and former Wenzhou University (founded in 1984) were merged and formed in 2004. After the evolution of "the merger of two schools and the integration of seven schools", the school can be traced back to Wenzhou Normal School, which was established in Zhejiang Province in 1933.
