His wife thought it was strange, so she asked him. He said it was because of the ability to sit still. It turns out that when Mr. Qian was young, he made great efforts to meditate for his health. Later, he applied the "meditation" kung fu in meditation to his daily life. He uses meditation when he walks by bus, so that he can sit at his desk as soon as he gets home. Obviously, it is this sitting skill that has made Qian Mu's knowledge. Scholar Yu Yingshi is a disciple of Qian Mu. He witnessed the hardships of establishing Xinya College when he moved, and he was full of respect for his teachers. In Yu Yingshi's memory, there is always such a scene: One summer vacation, Hong Kong was extremely hot, and he (Qian Mu) suffered from a severe gastric ulcer, and he was lying on the empty classroom floor to recuperate. I really felt sorry for him when I went to see him. I asked him, is there anything I can do for you? He said: I want to see the complete works of Wang Yangming. I went to the Commercial Press and bought him a copy. When I came back, he was still lying alone on the floor of the classroom. New Asia College seems to be empty. Since ancient times, no scholar has been worshipped by the world without any skill. This may be an eternal truth. Qian Zhongshu is a recognized scholar. Judging from his learning goal of "sweeping Tsinghua Library", the actual method used is still sitting on the bench. Lu Xun also said that where there is no genius, I just spend all my time drinking coffee. It can be seen that Lu Xun's success depends on the same time and strength. The first knowledge that historian Fan Wenlan taught his disciples was that "the bench should be cold for ten years, and the article should not be empty", which also showed the importance of sitting. Similar to practicing martial arts, Qian Mu's sitting skill is not born, but has been practiced for many years. If you want to study, you must sit down and sit still. If you can't sit down like Mr. Qian, it's hard to make a difference.
